The Shows
Our Theater Camp is dedicated to the creation, production and performance of musical theater. Our productions are specifically designed for the energy, attention span, and skills of elementary and middle school students, and are adapted for pre- and adolescent voices. Running 60-70 minutes, our shows are abridged but long enough to tell a complete story through script, song and dance. Each session focuses on a complete production.

Matilda The Musical JR.

Ages 7-15
Matilda The Musical JR. comes to life at JCC Theater Camp!
Matilda has astonishing wit, intelligence... and special powers! She's unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher, the highly loveable Miss Honey. Matilda's school life isn't completely smooth sailing, however – the school's mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves thinking up new punishments for those who don't abide by her rules. However, Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils' saving grace! Matilda’s bravery teaches Miss Honey and her classmates an important lesson -- that even though life can be hard, “nobody but me is gonna change my story” and therefore, “sometimes you have to be a little bit naughty.”
SESSION 2: July 12 - August 4, 2023
Legally Blonde The Musical JR.

Ages 7-15
Legally Blonde The Musical JR. hits the stage at JCC Theater Camp!
Legally Blonde JR. follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes, snobbery and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. When Elle's boyfriend, Warner, dumps her and heads to Harvard, claiming she's not "serious" enough, Elle takes matters into her own hands, crafting a showy song-and-dance personal essay and charming her way into law school. Befriending classmate, Emmett, and spunky hairdresser, Paulette, along the way, Elle finds that books and looks aren't mutually exclusive. As Elle begins outsmarting her peers, she realizes that law may be her natural calling after all. Ultimately, she defies expectations and manages to stay true to her delightfully pink personality.
