Shalom Chaverim (Dear Friends),

Our community has seen an influx of visitors from colder climates, and this month my home has been filled with guests including my mother-in-law, Geri; brother-in-law, Rob; and niece Rachel. We are looking forward to welcoming more visitors to our home in early March.

Our Adolph & Rose Levis JCC is home for so many in our community. As we look to spring, we are excited about the Spring Youth Enrichment Programs for children ages 5-10 which will begin in March. Presented by our Youth & Families department, these programs are held weekdays and Sundays. For those kids who just can’t get enough of the fun-filled activities at our Levis JCC, this is THE place to be to host birthday parties, which feature sports, games, an obstacle course, yoga, and so much more. For more information, or to plan a celebration at the Levis JCC, please contact Nancy Carroll at Nancyc@levisjcc.org.

This week’s Torah portion is Terumah (Offerings) in Exodus, the second in the Five Books of Moses. In it, the People of Israel are called upon to contribute thirteen materials—gold, silver and copper; blue, purple and red-dyed wool; flax, goat hair, animal skins, wood, olive oil, spices and gems—out of which, G d says to Moses, “They shall make for Me a Sanctuary, and I shall dwell amidst them.”

Wherever we decide to make a home, so much love, effort and investment goes into making it special. That is exactly what is currently going on at our Levis JCC. We are enjoying planning for future renovations to our Zale preschool facilities, and an expansion of our space on 95th Avenue S. so that our home will continue to be a warm and welcome place for thousands to enjoy exciting programming and activities for many, many years to come.

Light candles Friday night at 6:00 pm.
Shabbat ends Saturday night at 6:55 pm.

Shabbat Shalom,
