Jewish Cultural Colombia:
A Fascinating Sephardic Jewish History Tour

September 4-12, 2024

Join us for a unique opportunity! Susana Flaum leads our first ever tour to her hometown of Medellin, Colombia and the surrounding mountain towns. Learn about the little- known Sephardic Jewish history of the area and the rebirth of a thriving Crypto-Jewish community.

Jewish roots are deeply embedded in many local traditions and customs that were left behind by Jews who arrived hundreds of years ago. Only recently, these truths have been rediscovered and a powerful and true spiritual identity is re-emerging. Today’s Colombian Crypto-Jews describe this reclamation as “soul memory.”

Colombia, considered be “El Dorado,” (The Golden) by the Spaniards, is a country blessed with natural splendors, majestic mountains and magnificent coastlines. Medellin, the capital city of the mountainous department of Antioquia, is “The City of Eternal Spring.”
