Description
In 1964, Jackie Gleason moved his hit TV variety show from New York to the Miami Beach Auditorium. Every week the show opened with “from the sun and fun capital of the world, Miami Beach, it’s the Jackie Gleason Show!” and he’d close the show by shouting, “Miami Beach audiences are the greatest in the world!” Gleason gave Miami Beach six years of high-visibility showbiz glamour, impacting it’s world-wide reputation as a first-class tourist destination.
