Description
Stephen Sondheim’s musical comedy has been a Broadway smash for years. Mama Rose, a stage mother from hell, pushes her daughters June and Louise into vaudeville. Rose pins her hopes for fame on daughter June, while little Louise goes along for the ride. When June escapes to get married, Rose puts Louise in the star spot, but vaudeville is dying and the only booking is in burlesque. Louise rises to stardom as stripper Gypsy Rose Lee.
