Event Details
Description
It’s haimish. It’s hip. It’s melody melting into story, and story into melody. Violinist Randi Fishenfeld and storyteller Caren Schnur Neile perform reimagined shtetl tales and a true-life tragicomedy about officiating at a beloved niece’s dual-faith wedding. It’s almost too good to be true. Caren Schnur Neile has taught storytelling studies at Florida Atlantic University since 2001. She has performed in six countries, and this spring will appear at the JCC in Krakow, Poland. Dr. Neile is featured weekly on the Public Storyteller on South Florida public radio and is a columnist on storytelling for the South Florida Jewish Journal. Described as a “tornado on the violin who can bow life into the dead,” Randi Fishenfeld is a classically trained musician who has worked with Bruce Springsteen, Air Supply, Foghat, B.B. King and Nestor Torres, among others. A former attorney, she is currently a member of the hugely popular Klezmer Company Jazz Orchestra and the Wildfire Band. $25, A&L Gold Members: $20, A&L Platinum Members: Free Call 561-558-2520 for more info and tickets
